La infección por Helicobacter pylori constituye problablemente la infección crónica más difundida en la especie humana se estima que más del 50 por ciento de la población mundial está infectada con este patógeno y la alta prevalencia en los países en vías de desarrollo como el nuestro supera el 70 por ciento constituyendo un grave problema de salud publica, por los altos costos del tratamiento. El propósito de la investigación fue determinar la prevalencia de anticuerpos IgG anti Helicobacter pylori por ELISA además de establecer los pricipales factores de riesgo en los pacientes con patología gástrica del Hospital George Duez del IPTK en Sucre de agosto a octubre de 2013 Helicobacter pylori infection is probably the most widespread chronic infection in the human species. It is estimated that more than 50 percent of the world population is infected with this pathogen and the high prevalence in developing countries such as ours is over 70 Percent constitute a serious public health problem, due to the high costs of treatment. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the prevalence of anti-Helicobacter pylori IgG antibodies by ELISA in addition to establishing the main risk factors in patients with gastric disease at the George Duez Hospital of the IPTK in Sucre from August to October 2013
