La convulsionada y compleja etapa que recoge el presente tomo engloba la gestación y la emergencia del ciclo histórico más importante del siglo XX en Bolivia: la revolución nacional. Entre 1920 y 1952, el cuestionamiento al excluyente manejo del poder fue permanente y progresivo. Tras la derrota bélica en el Chaco, la necesidad de integrar la nación, incluir a las mayorías y promover el desarrollo de las regiones marginadas, dando un vuelco al rol del Estado, fue pensada por los nuevos actores sociales como un imperativo. Este azaroso y cruento camino culminó con el triunfo del pueblo en armas y la propuesta del nacionalismo revolucionario. The convulsion and complex stage that this volume includes includes the gestation and the emergence of the most important historical cycle of the twentieth century in Bolivia: the national revolution. Between 1920 and 1952, the questioning of the exclusive management of power was permanent and progressive. After the defeat of war in the Chaco, the need to integrate the nation, to include the majorities and to promote the development of the marginalized regions, giving a turn to the role of the State, was thought by the new social actors as an imperative. This dangerous and bloody road culminated in the triumph of the people in arms and the proposal of revolutionary nationalism.
