Este libro es un aporte al conocimiento de la historia de las organizaciones indígenas en el Ecuador, a través de testimonios de dirigentes indígenas y campesinos, quienes, a lo largo del siglo XX, lucharon por defender sus derechos y cambiar las estructuras de presión. Se analiza, además, la creación de la Casa Campesina en Saquisilí, antecedente de la actual Jatarishun, organización que constituye la base del movimiento indígena en dicho cantón.

This book is a contribution to the knowledge of the history of indigenous organizations in Ecuador, through testimonies of indigenous leaders and peasants, who, throughout the 20th century, fought to defend their rights and change pressure structures. The creation of the Campesino House in Saquisilí, antecedent of the current Jatarishun, organization that constitutes the base of the indigenous movement in said canton, is also analyzed.
