La firma digital o electrónica es un nuevo medio para dar autenticidad al documento electrónico o digital en las notarías. Pero la aceptación y utilización de la firma digital en la función notarial requiere que la legislación boliviana tenga las bases jurídicas que regulen la utilización de la firma digital en la función notarial, otorgándole la misma validez y eficacia jurídica que el uso de una firma manuscrita u otra análoga que conlleve manifestación de voluntad.
