Con diferentes aproximaciones y argumentos, los lectores de este tomo podrán disponer de un conjunto de elementos que permiten repensar, conversar y debatir sobre el siglo XIX. Tres ejes estructuran cada una de las partes de lo componen: el eje económico, el político-social y el educativo y cultural, con sus rupturas y continuidades. Nuestra visión histórica es que, mas allá de "los hombres de la presidencia", existen mundos (estructuras económicas, culturas políticas, actores, etc.) cuya complejidad es importante poner en primer plano. Por ello nos ha interesado enfatizar un pasado articulado, denso, con conflictos, tensiones, paradojas y contradicciones pero también con actores sociales que han luchado desde diferentes posiciones y posicionamientos para la construcción de su país. With different approaches and arguments, the readers of this volume will have a set of elements that allow us to rethink, talk and debate about the nineteenth century. Three axes structure each of the parts of it: the economic axis, the political-social and the educational and cultural, with its ruptures and continuities. Our historical vision is that, beyond "the men of the presidency", there are worlds (economic structures, political cultures, actors, etc.) whose complexity is important to put in the foreground. That is why we have been interested in emphasizing an articulated past, dense, with conflicts, tensions, paradoxes and contradictions, but also with social actors who have fought from different positions and positions for the construction of their country.
